Our next production will be ‘No Holds Bard’, a Fringe-style Review of short pieces (one-acts, two-handers, monologues, songs, dances, comedy, tragedy, classic, contemporary – you name it!) all united by one set theme, and we need your help to make it happen.

Please contact Nic at nomdesouris@gmail.com if you are even a little bit interested in the possibility of directing or co-directing something for the event, and I’ll fill you in on the theme. We’re just as happy to hear from you if you’re an experienced director or a brand new director – and don’t worry if you’re also keen on acting, because it’s possible to do both. But this is only going to happen if we can get a bunch of people together who are willing to chip in and help make it happen – and that’s where you come in.

On the first Thursday of each month (unless there is a production in progress), the Bangkok Community Theatre hold its Club Night. The night is open to all members, their friends and anyone interested in finding out more about the BCT. The Club Night is a chance to catch up with fellow members, to meet some new members, to socialize and to hone your theatre skills.

During Club Nights in 2013, the BCT will offer a series of sessions on Developing Theatre Skills, focusing on acting and directing. Whether you are a beginner actor or a seasoned thespian; whether you are an experienced director or someone who has always wanted to direct but was never quite game; here is a chance to refresh your skills or take that first step into the joys of being involved in a theatrical production.
Come and join us this year and surprise yourself by discovering your hidden talents. Maybe you will be the star actor or director of a BCT production in the near future.

BCT Club Night Thursday 02 May @ the British Club on Silom Soi 18 from 7 – 9 pm “Directing 101”
This first session of BCT’s Developing Theatre Skills will be an introduction to
• the role of the director
• how to select a suitable play
• how to conduct the first read-through
• how to direct a scene – blocking, structuring
There will be an opportunity for all to either act in, or direct, a scene – or both, if time allows.
The guest director for “Directing 101” will be Ray Possick, who has directed, and acted in BCT shows.

Fox describes his play, which is written in English and set in Bangkok, as a rhyming comedy in three acts which explores the themes of: the power of names and money and the slavery of these things; the philosophy behind greed and capitalism; trust and betrayal; and the importance of helping others and doing the right thing.
